HKS Type I TT stutter...
Hey guys... I just installed my HKS TYPE I TT with GReddy harness.
I followed the instructions posted on this board (great post Vanilla Sky), and everything is functioning properly.
ONE problem I am experiencing however, is kinda weird. When i turn off the car.. it sounds like it wants to shut down, but the TT kicks in and does not let it. It is not very smooth, and you can definitely tell the car almost turned off... sort of like a stutter.. then idle again.
I spoke with webguy, and he told me that his Type I is seamless when he turns off the car, and that you can't even tell.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the cause of this? I appreciate it!
bad splicing?
bad ground?

Check yer splices son!! That ebrake splice is key, as the instructions state on the wiring diagram it MUST be solidly connected or the TT will not function properly. You may have loosened that connection up reassembling the center console or it could be hitting something when you pull the ebrake up.
I'd start there, then work on the ecu taps, then finally get a new harness if it's not solved by then.

Mine does the same thing and I have the Apexi pen type TT with an Eclipse 2G harness. I can't remember the brand though. I am wondering if it is because of the cars ignition disable device? I know when I turn the key off really fast that it doesn't do it. I am thinking of buying an Evo specific harness and tying that then I will try a different TT. Also, my doors will unlock when the TT shuts off. I have the Clifford G4 alarm in my car and have read in the brochure that I can turn this feature off, but everywhere I have asked and called doesn't know s^!t. Anyone else have the same problem or know how to program the Clifford G4 alarm?

I've been told that there is a problem with the HKS turbo timers and the greddy harnesses. I've seen it first and, where switching out the harness to either a blitz or an HKS fixes the problem. You might want to try that.

Hmm.. i am still having that problem. I have just gotten used to pulling the key out really fast. I took it to a local shop, and they looked at it for me free of charge, and said that it was normal...
BUT....
If i just turn the car off... but do not take the key out... it pretty much just SHUTS DOWN... then a split second later, the RPMS jump up to 2k, and drop again. I'll try ordering an HKS harness.
Fireball, you said you've seen the hks harness fix this problem? thx..
