Powder coating opinions needed

I'm looking for opinions for powder coating color schemes for my car. The engine bay thread didn't help much. It's full of shiny exhaust manifold heat shields, ARC products, and cars with only the valve cover painted. I'm looking for people that have taken the time to powder coat the engine bay and have made their engine bay look really nice. Two cars that come to mind right now are streetthisevo's build and STM's RS.

Not a current picture of my car. Right now my BOV and WG are yellow, I have a STM coolant overflow reservoir that might be powder coated black right now, STM 3" UICP, Skunk2 IM, Full Blown TB, STM 2.5" in/3" out IC, and a STM BFC catch can that I'm thinking about powder coating before installation.

Most current picture I have right now, sorry. I'm in Japan till May and I'd really like to get some visual ideas so I can get everything powder coated while I'm away.

Thanks

Im open to changes. The exhaust manifold doesn't have to be black.

Or maybe post some ideas you have been thinking about doing on your own car.

I'm a big engine-bay guy and my Evo 8 engine-bay has had tons of complements over the years. Here are my thoughts, hope this helps:

A thorough engine-bay detail (steam clean or hand use products). You will be surprised what a good detail will do. Good idea on the coolant resivor, powder coat for sure. Get some Adams In-Out spray, stuff really works great!

Spark plug cover, all IC piping, and BR mini-battery tray need to be powder coated, black to keep with theme. Get an all black battery, the one you have really doesn't jive and clashes color wise.

Polish radiator, lots of products out there that can help you with that.

Take it to the next level and powder coat the turbo compressor.

Thank you for being the first person to actually give advise.

I have a STM coolant overflow resevoir that is powdercoated wrinkle black, a brand new radiator, and the compressor housing is getting bead blasted then polished.

Do you think it will be a good idea if all the hot parts were black and all the cold parts were polish (I'm not polishing the intake manifold and throttle body though, just bead blast)? With the yellow accents like the WG, BOV, and VC? This is what I was thinking when I was planing this through. I really wish I could picture this before I did it though.

Just a thought on doing everything in your engine bay black...Why? This is just my opinion, but my thoughts are if you spend money on aftermarket parts, and we all know they're NOT cheap, why have them hidden, or lost in black with all the pieces that are already black from the factory?

I'm not saying have all the colors of the rainbow in your engine bay by any means, but...The 'theme' of my engine bay is red accents, because red is Mitsubishi's main color throughout the years...I had my valve cover powder coated, and with hydro-graphics put over it. Intercooler pipes are red, etc., but NOT everything. I have an aftermarket coolant tank that is a non-polished alloy original color, along with my other tanks...

Best of luck with your decision! Post up the final result!

That was my thought too. Black wasn't my first choice. Polish was my first choice but the powdercoater didn't do polish at the time so I got the manifold, dump tube, and O2 housing coated in black. Hell, I might just do everything in polish.

Does anyone have pictures of their fully powder coated engine bay?

Current one

Go all wrinkle black can't go wrong specially on red

Do a darker yellow like mine but bright tho

Also get a carbon fiber radiator cooling plate it really looks nice

Here's one with the cf plate, this when I had polish pipping, BOV etc

Wait 2 weeks ima getting everything powercoated wrinkle black and I'll post more pics
