Need new tires, choices choices...recommendations?

My new wheels should be in in the next couple of weeks (hopefully).
The rim is an 18x9 with a +30 offset. And, I am having a slight dilemma.

Should I run 245/40/18 or 255/35/18?
This is my daily driver, and I am running a Tein Flex setup. I dont want the ride to be any more stiff than it already is, but then again I dont want to rub or roll the fenders. Which size do you recommend?

Lastly, there are so many tires to choose from. These wheels and tires will be on the car for about 8 to 9 months out of the year, so I need to get something with good treadwear, but will perform well in dry and wet. I dont really need to have a super kick *** auto x or track tire, but I also dont want horribly soft sidewalls that will flex on any turn. Any recommendations?

Selecting tires happens to be a weak point for me, that is why I am looking for some good advice or experiences.

Thanks,
Nathan

Bridgestone REO50A pole position. Mich PS2. The mich will last longer but the BS is a better riding, handling tire in dry or wet,not to say the mich is bad because they,re a great tire also.I,m using 245x40 with no rubbing but thats on a stock suspension.

I will take a look at these, thanks for the tip. Also, these wheels are 18x9 with a +30 offset. They are not an 8" wide wheel.

So, what do you think....255/35 or 245/40 on the +30 offset?
Some say the 245/40 is too tall, and yes my car is lowered in Tein Flex CO. It is not slammed, but has a nice drop. To give a good comparison, it actually sits between the drops of the Tein S-Techs and the H-Techs.

Thanks again for the replies everybody....keep them coming.

Jeesh need more Dr. Pepper sorry. ugg, my bad... looked over the 9" wheel thing. All of our 18x9's with a similar offset *32mm for example* require slight mod to the fender lip to make clearance, even with a 235. I don't think a 255 will be an issue with the right body mods. The 245's do seem a bit tall compared to the others we've found to work properly.

I'm running WORK ride springs with 18x9 +29 offset SSR's rolling on 255/35/18 Goodyear F1's, and even though I can feel EVERYTHING on the road, the F1's are amazingly quiet and compliant --- and if I had one complaint, it would be that I miss the Advan's adamantium sidewalls.
