Snow + Advan = Disaster

Just a quick reminder that the stock Yokohama tires and snow do not mix, not even 1/4" of snow.

DO NOT DRIVE IN THE SNOW WITH THE ADVAN TIRES

Purchase a good set of snow tires or just garage the beast till spring.

I brought my car home Feb 2nd last year. We got about 4" of snow a few days later. I had to run to work for a bit which is a 5 min drive from my house. I look at the beefy tread on the Yok's and think I'll be ok. lol yeah right. I might as well been on slicks.
Needless to say, I didn't get stuck but that 5 min ride took almost 20.

At first snowfall this year, I took my stock tires around the block (under 1000mi at that point)... could NOT stop without ABS kicking in, and even then I'd slide like crazy.

Needless to say, I orderd 4 Hankook W300's that day and these are PERFECT

I use Blizzaks in the Winter, since I live in Colorado, but most places in the country you can get away with all-seasons just fine.

do you guys not read your ****ing manuals or the big *** warning about the tires that comes on the damn door!?

im sick of these advan snow threads

the advans lose traction in anything under like 35 degrees, nevermind snow

Holy crap, that looked scary, you were fishtailing for along time even after the turn. How fast were you going? it looked like you were driving normal speeds, its hard to tell from the vid. But damn, you got lucky that time!

I've driven the Advans on ice and light snow and while the drive was slippery it wasn't impossible. As long as you don't have steep hills or more than 4" it's possible to get around. I don't recommend it but its not the end of the world.

I am running Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D...awesome tires. I went down to 205 50 17 which adds another dimension of traction in snow.....
