Evo + Blizzard = fun

Woke up this morning to a foot of snow. Saw lightning and heard thunder during the blizzard overnight. Here's some shots. Enjoy!

Can't get out of car? Park in snowbank!

Awesome! Watch your coolant temps if you keep ripping/doing donuts with the grill all full like that, my evo8 got a little overheated a few times like that

What rims do you have on there? Perfect for the snow I'd say, cleanout will be easy!

The rims are cheap fastco wheels that I picked up at the dealer. The snow in my front bumper? That was just the drive to work. I didn't have a chance to go have some real fun yet lol

The snow was coming over the hood going from the entrance to the parking lot where I work to where I parked it. So much snow it's hard to even try going sideways cuz the snow is above the side skirts.

I'm running Nokian Hakkapeliitta R 245/40R18 tires. Best unstudded winter tires in the business, IMHO.

Lucky. Sometimes I wish I lived in the snow. Being is SO CAL for 42 years kinda gets boring. Although I am sure those in the snow are probably saying the opposite. Something about going to the mountains when there is no snow and waking up to my car covered in snow makes me feel like a little kid.

It's probably going to be 75 to 80 degrees here in So Cal today. BOOOOO

Haha I wouldn't mind some 75-80 degree weather. This morning it was -1C, (30F), but it's falling to -19C tonite (-28C with wind chill)... which is -2F and -18F with wind chill. 75F would be great about now lol
On the plus side, I hosed off my car. Should be snow free for at least 10 feet after I leave the garage.

View from the front door of where I work, taken 5 minutes ago. Most of that snow wasn't there yesterday.

Anyone who thinks winters would be "fun" should rethink that. Yes, there are moments when you can have fun in the snow. Then, for the rest of the winter, there are roads full of sand, washed with salt that does horrible things to a car's underbody and paint. I would much rather be SoCal and enjoy my Evo for the winter than to have it in storage for 5 months.

To the OP: Great pictures. You captured the essence of driving in a blizzard/snowstorm. Thanks!

Why would you store an All-wheel drive car with a snow setting during winter months? The only weather that scares me is hail.

Many people around where I live store their cars for the winter so that they don't get exposed to the road salt and sand. Driving in the winter can take years off the life of a car's body. Unfortunately, I don't have a beater to drive as a DD in the winter, so I drive the X. That being said, I love driving it in the winter. It's a beast in the snow.
