facebook groups FTW.

i'm at 82k. Her is to hoping that the pump craps it's self before the 100k mark. Just like it seems (so far, fingers crossed) my aftermarket warranty is gonna give my tranny a sprucing and a SST fluid change in the process. Told the tranny shop to go ahead and charge me the filter if they can't get that covered under the tranny work.

Mods don't cause corrosion which is what this extension is for.

So my pump just went out on me, I've had it for 3 and a half years, but its at 56K km's. Does anyone know if that warranty extension is also in effect in Canada??

It goes to the dealership Wednesday morning. So I'm wondering if they are going to give me a hassle or not :/

Print this out and you'll be golden in my opinion.

Come on now, we both know mitsu can deny the warranty for ANY changes made to the car.

On the other EVO forum (not EVOX) there was a guy talking to the dealership about this, and one of the reps told him that the warranty could be denied for the smallest change, EVEN JUST CHANGING YOUR EXHAUST TIPS.

So if your car is 100% stock you might have a chance if your pump dies.

But if your tuned or modded in any way, consider yourself ****ed.

True but you do have a real fighting chance if it is due to corrosion. Not saying some dip**** mitsu rep/dealership won't try to deny it but I'm sure a good case can be made.

You really don't.

Read the warranty docs that come with the car. It specifically excludes "weather events" (So if pump fails from super cold weather your SOL) and corrosion from road salts or other "de-icing or corrosive agents".

So if you live in a temperate climate, have never exposed to car to corrosive elements, and keep it 100% stock with all services done at the dealer, you have a pretty good chance of the warranty covering the pump.

Everyone else, don't count on the warranty. Either relocate the pump using DrivenFabs kit, or have a few grand put up for when it does fail. Not IF but WHEN.

People think that the warranty extension was specifically for the evo, but its not. Its really for the Outlander. It uses the same pump as the evo for the SAWC system. And since mitsu is now focused on suv, cuv, and ev, they are covering their *** on one of their biggest sellers.
