Car & Driver Evo X Final Edition Review

I appreciate the honest nature of the car. I came to a 2015 gsr from years if a 94 miata r that I hardly miss. Although I do think the evo's ride is way too soft...contrary to the review.
The test notes say the front runs out of grip first. If you give it an aggressive alignment with appropriate settings I wonder what resultant g's they would have gotten. Also, no mention of s-awc's contribution in the handling mix. Perhaps a magazine would be so nice to get the Evo FE and a Focus RS together for a proper passing of the torch.

What passing would be needed?
Ford's been doing this longer than Mitsu. American market, maybe. Plus nobody in the US market can really afford to be snobbish because we never got the best Evo in the first place, and Ford has plenty of rally chops elsewhere. RS200 > Mitsu.
Besides what do Americans do with the fabled rally cars anyway? Drag race, and random pulls. And when it comes to that, the RS is obviously going to have an advantage.

its quite interesting the extra 12 hp relates to that much improvement...
The RS is claimed the 4.7sec 0-62mph and 13.2 if I am right 1/4 mile I forgot the trap speed.
And its a bit lighter car, so the FE would be almost pair with that performance with a heavier weight and 40 less HP ...
We will see in te real life.
food for thought mean time. The AMG is irrelevant for the USA we don't have it here.

Other publications had 4.3 and 4.4/4.5 0-60 with the X...and better around their respective skidpads....its all relative at the end of the day, comes down to human error/timing...great article though! hopefully someone at Mitsu sacks up and pushes the XI in to reality since there has been a ton of talk about it.

Here are some past test results to make my point.
RT had a 2011 GSR do 0-60 in 4.3 and 1/4 in 13.0 @ 105
MT clocked a 2010 SE doing 0-60 in 4.5 and 1/4 in 13.3 @ 103.4
C&D themselves tested a 2008 GSR doing 0-60 in 4.6 and 1/4 in 13.4 @ 103.
