i could be wrong, but i don't think i am...
step 1: put the car in either super sport mode, or manual
step 2: hold the brake down with your left foot
step 3: floor it
step 4: let go of the brake
i think that's pretty much it. there may be something else to hold/press before you start revving, but i think that's all you do. the easiest way would be to just go outside and try this yourself. it can't be that hard to figure out.

here is how it is on my e46 m3, im sure its something similar:
- the car must be on level ground
- in s6 mode (like the super sport mode for the x)
- asc off
- hold the shifter in the up position (like you want to down shift)
- slowly ease on the pedal, rpm's will rise to set limit and let get of shifter to launch, if i step on the gas real fast then that would initiate burn out mode, not sure if the x has this.
im sure the evo x is somewhat similar to get into launch control

its just like my DSG trans. its just like what ODUB said but im pretty sure ud have to turn off the traction control first. thats how my gti is. ive read that the MR has built in fail safe that under a hard launch it wont put 100% of the power down so it doesnt break something unlike the GSR which u can just floor it.

most of us have gotten around that
I dont "dump" the clutch at 5500 either...more of a feather into power technique.
I dont know that I would compare Mitsu elec to VeeDub or Beemer Elec....I'd ask someone with an MR (after the mandatory 30 min break in) if it works or not.....

Select ASC ALL OFF (Press and hold till you hear dingding)
Select S-Sport mode (PARK and press TC-SST UP and the UP one more time and hold until you get S-SPORT)
Step on brakes
Step fully on accelerator
RPM rises to 3000rpms .. then shoots rapidly to 5000+rpms at 1 bar boost

No wheel spin at all .. 4 wheels should be smoking with your power ..
JDM Evo SST at launch will smoke all wheels for about 0.25s .. ie a little bit of smoke

Found a video showing exactly how you do it, with the caveat that you need to take the ASC ALL THE WAY OFF unlike this dumbtastic clownboy from C&D. It's funny they did a whole video on doing it right and still managed to do it wrong...then of course criticized the lack of squeal when the brake assist reined in the tire slippage...
