Recommeded offset and tire size for 18x9.5 rims
Looking for advice on what offset is recommended for 18x9.5 rims on an Evo X -
I've seen everything from +20 to +35 used.
Also, what tires fit well? 255/35's or 265/35's?
Thanks!

Search. There is prob 100 threads on this exact question and at least 2 i can think of dedicated to X fitment, Not a good first post.
But in the spirit of trying to be helpful and save time:
The wheels I am picking up for a X are:
18.9.5 +15 with 265/35. perfect set up imo.
All the enkeis you listed with high offsets will need spacers.
bonus evo points (that are worthless) if anyone can guess what possible wheels are good on a X in that size/offset...? Its tough I know.

But go too shallow, and the tire will stick out the fender and rub on it if the car is lowered...It's like trying to get a hole in one at Trump National to get a rim/tire combo that will fit without rubbing something...

I've seen offsets in the mid +20's that clear (no fender rubbing) just fine with a 9.5 wheel...
I have Varrstoen ES2 18x9.5 +12 offset with 245/40 Yokohama YK580's, and my car is lowered on the Eibach pro springs. I only rub the rear fenders over harsh bumps, more so if I have passengers, but it's not horrible by any means...besides, nothing a quick fender roll can't fix.
Not sure if you'd ever want to go that aggressive, but the 245 doesn't looked that stretched at all and the overall look wheels with that much offset give is simply badass

Did you all see this sticky post?

From numerous posts I have seen, 9.5 +22 seems to be very popular for proper clearance and flushness.

Just sayin...9.5s can support up to a 275. Its one hell of a contact patch and would probably rub like hell but with the proper offset it can clear 'em. Ive only seen one EVO with a 275 and it Was SICK!
Practical, maybe not but the rim can non the less support such size SAFELY, clearance issues aside I have witnessed a 285 on a 9.5...completely fine but im just sayin lol

for the love of god please dont listen to whoever said the right size tire is a 245 on a 9.5 wheel. that is just simply wrong.
+22 is solid. +15 is good if your ready to work your fenders a bit or are not lowered.
255/265 is up to you. I ran previously 265s on a 9.5 and the grip was amazing. for DD, it was a lot of tire (on an 8 tho). When they were toast, i put on some track take offs that were 255. much better on the street, but lateral grip was decreased (power slides are more fun tho). I will prob go back to 265s.
On a X, get 265s. if you go lower than 255 please let us know so we can give an opinion
you havent said what wheels your looking at. if +22 im guessing Volks? GL to the OP whichever route you take
