hope your planning on getting another amp for those subs cuz with just the 500 is not enough power and could damage the subs. I was looking into getting a W7 12 or 13 and i have the JL 500 and the dude was like you gotta get another amp. so now i just got 2 12in kicker solo barics that sound tight, and im gettin another 500w amp so i have one for each sub....you should maybe do the same

WRONG!

Underpowering in no way harms subs. Having an underpowered amp and cranking the gain so it blasts out distorted watts harms subs.

Think about it logically, you're free to turn down your volume knob right? That's reducing the power the sub sees. So if underpowering harmed subs, you could never turn your system down, or off for that matter!

Isn't the sound of the car and some nice back ground driving music enough??? I had a simple system in my old car, but adding all that weight just kills your gas milage and makes your car slower because it weighs more. Besides, why does it need to be 2000 watts loud? Do you not like being able to hear?

Ok, now to relpy to that. How much do you think a entire stereo actually weights. I am will to bet that it is not nearly enough to cause a decrease in gas milage or anything like that. If you are worried about saving your gas and getting that little bit of extra power out of you car, I suggest also driving around with you AC off, cause that compressor just sucks up the power.

Well, every 100 lbs......I am sure you know the story of that one. But I think that my car is already seriously UNDERPOWERED from the factory, and every little bit helps. The gas thing wasn't the major point.

All that weight is only 100lbs; which in vehicle weight terms is nothing. Car Audio is of the utmost importance to me its 1 of the reasons I own a motor vehicle and don't just ride my bike.

When I had the system in my old car, it was hella slower. I had box of 2 12's, 3 amp, crossover, it was morte than enough for me to notice it was WAY slower. we can race for money with all your system in if you want? I mean if that wiull prove my point.

Not tring to be an *** or anything, just stating from my exp.

Just remember that because something is added to a car doesn't mean that something wasn't removed to compensate thats all I'll say
