a/c help

okay my sisters lancer's A/C just messed up today but here car is acting weird. okay on level 1-3 the compressor works ,but the ac blows no air. But when i put it in level 4 the a/c blows air but the compressor turns off and the air is warm.
P.S i checked it with a gauge and it does not need to be recharged

ive been having a/c issues for about 2months now, im taking it in this friday to get look at again.

first for me it was the fan control relay, got that fixed and a/c worked. my a/c went out about a week later got it recharged & evap(sp?), and my a/c worked. now its works at night and most of the day. im thinking a leak? but, my compressor makes this weird noise when my a/c is on for a while.

yea but it works good because on level 1-3 it works then putting on level 4 it turns off and blows air, the air is cold for like 2- sec , then it gets warm

I have this same exact problem right now actually, I think it was originally caused by overflowing water shorting out whatever controls this... due to the common clogged drain.

Anyways, eyekyu how much did it end up costing to get it fixed? And, is it a pretty common part?

my a/c compressor froze up for some odd reason. i cant afford another one so i just took it out and had to put a shorter belt on to run my power steering. runs like a champ now. just got no a/c. i think i may have even added a few more horses by having a shorter belt. car has 128,000 miles on it.

so the a/c compressor can freeze up, but how? the shop try to tell me this but i just didn't believe it. there prob a leak in your sys. take it to a shop. here in vegas they have free a/c checks so.

i will know by tuesday if my a/c has a leak if not, they i will keep narrowing it down. i would say just go somewhere and get it checked.

A/C doesnt work when its hot out side.

I have an '03 lancer Oz. My A/C works really well when its like 83 deg or less out side, if it gets like today 99 deg it works fine for a few min. then cuts out. Any Ideas?? I have charged it and it helps slightly but doesnt solve the problem. My thought was that it could be that controller by the fan....... I dont know. Also, there was a recall I think having to do with the fans, but I haven't ever had that done. Is it possible that the two are connected?? I have checked and when the A/C is "on" both fans are on, but the clutch on the Compressor is not engaged. Is that controller monted to the fan a part of the A/C system? Any Help, suggestions would be great, ITS FREAKING HOT!!!
