This car will be in market in early part of 2004.
Some specs:
Length: 4,204 mm (57mm long than MK IV)
Width: 1,759mm (24mm more than MK IV)
Height: 1,483mm (39mm more than MK IV)
With new chassis, the MK V Golf is 80% more rigid than the MKIV. The new car will also have ESP system, power-assisted brakes, and 6 sets of airbags. The engines that are current featured will be the 1.9L and 2.0L (105/104hp) Diesel engines and the 1.4L and 1.6L (105hp/140hp) gasoline engines. In 2005, there will be a 2.0 turbo engine (200hp) for the Turbo Gti model and there will be the AWD VR6 R32 model.

The 1.8T is working wonders now, and I am not sure VW will switch to another engine that quick...

The HELL are people thinking?
I mean, look at the new Nissan shield grilles...those are just fugly, especially on the Sentras.
Designers have to get a massive grip.

OOOOOOH, the Mk. I's and II's are dead sexy. Love the twin headlights and red surround trim on the Mk. II especially. Now if only I could get my hands on an Audi Sport Quattro (KING of the now defunct Group B).
