Kristin's T2K15 GTR Build - 1000WHP - Boostin Performance
Over a year ago I sold my 2006 Mitsubishi Evo 9 (aka Demonette), which was my first build/project car, and picked up a bone stock 2009 GTR. A full build thread on the Evo can be found here ---> https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/pr...o-9-build.html During this time, the GTR's been modified with a few simple bolt-ons. I started with the Boostin Performance BPR Stage 1 Package. (http://shop.boostinp...p/gtr-bpr-1.htm) And within a few months, this Stage 1 package was upgraded to the BPR Stage 2 Package (http://shop.boostinp...p/gtr-bpr-2.htm) With this Stage 2 Package, I ran a best of 10.2 at 134mph in the 1/4 mile, and 168mph in the 1/2 mile, on street tires.
Last year I competed in a couple of events with the GTR:
* Midwest Street Fest at Great Lakes Dragway (WI) - This was my first competition with the GTR, and I gained a lot of experience learning how to stage the car, adjust the launch control on the fly, and concentrated on my reaction time.
*Buschur's Shootout (OH) - I believe the experience I gained at MWSF helped me out a lot, especially being one of the few stock powered GTR's in this class. I placed 3rd in the Stock Appearing GTR Class with a best pass of 10.3 @ 134 MPH.
* WannaGoFast Chicago 1/2 Mile (IL) - This was my first 1/2 mile event and it was really interesting to see the wide variety of cars competing. It took me a couple of runs to feel comfortable, but once I was, I trapped a best of 168mph.
As an authorized AMS Alpha Performance dealer and installer here at Boostin, I naturally turned to AMS for one of their turbo kits to help power this build. Matched with a Boostin built 3.8L and Sheps' One-K transmission, I'm thrilled to get this build underway, and get my baby back on the street!
Here are some of the upgrades for this build:
The plan for this build is to get her ready for T2K next month, and we've already started to tear into her.........
The transmission is out and ready for a Shep One-K upgrade!
Before pulling the motor, new 3" upper and lower intercooler pipes were fabricated. These ICP's will be powder coated wrinkle black while the motor is being built.
New ICP vs stock ICP:
I'll continue to update this thread often with the progress.
Next step.....pulling and tearing apart the motor

congrats on the car. I kind of went the other direction, I sold my ZL1 to get into an EVO. I definitely miss the power but I needed a more practical daily driver . Can't wait to see how you do at T2K.

Looking forward to Texas in a couple of weeks. I'll post up results and videos from the event.

**UPDATE**
Got a lil port work done on the intakes. Removed that ugly lip and port matched the upper and lower intakes to a nice, smooth finish.
