Jack,
This sounds awesome! Thanks for the updates to this thread, and the fluid testing issue in the other thread. We all appreciate what you do for the community!

I'm really excited new things might come for the SST as you mentioned.
is it too much to ask if we get video footage of your evo test mule like the GTR video??

LOL, I would love to, but I just broke it. A new part we were testing had a failure and I haven't had time to dig into it yet. Hopefully that will happen next week.

The next time I have it in the car, I'll try to take a video.

Are you doing any tuning to the TCU?

Jack.. with your tranny rebuild and new parts testing...are you tuning the SST ECU too differently?

No, I'm trying to leave the TCU alone and make mechanical changes right now. If I can make the changes I want without work to the TCU, then that will make life easier for our customers.

If it helps in your endeavors:
I have SSP500 clutches/steels and DCT seals. Those combined with my tuning, and the car drives like a sequential. Perfect for deep threshold breaking and dropping 2 to 3 gears at corner entry.
To help mitigate drivetrain shock, I stiffened up the longitudinal bushings (as load is pushed front to back). The only time it "shocks" the system is if the wheel is turned (and the drive shaft is bent), but then again, that means I'm shifting too late/early
All shifting is controlled in the ECU, I use the apporach of aggressive shifts but smooth out the engagement action, best of both worlds.

Hey Jack, any new word on your work? Sorry to keep poking and prodding but my clutch is going out and I've already been in contact with you and Tim via email, just trying to hold out to see what you come up with before I pull the trigger on the full rebuild! Thanks for anything you can give us!

well considering Jacks rebuilds the trans using their own parts to reinforce the weak parts of the trans, I imagine it isn't even comparable.

with that being said, I know they generally use the SSP clutch packs but if you prefer the Dodson ones they'd probably install them for you with the rebuild if you sent the clutch pack you wanted.
