I'll be in ST* this year, for my first time on street tires since 2010. Not in an Evo though... In an STX e36

Max allowed by class is 265, but 255 is the most popular choice since no one really makes a 265 in a 17" tire.

Do you have to run 17s? I would make sure I could have to most tire there no matter what...

STX is limited to 9" wheels and E36s usually have issues fitting more than 255's.

(and more tire is not always better when limited on wheel width, but you knew that)

265s would definitely fit with out any work. 275s with fenders rolled flat are certainly possible with the right offsets.

Honestly, the STAC should really consider allowing 265 wide tires in STU for the AWD vehicles, IMHO. Especially with the other cars they recently allowed in STU. I would support that.

Yeah I ran 18x10 +38 RPF1s with a 5mm spacer and 285 Hoosiers with just a roll, no pull. Street tires should fit even better, as they'll be narrower than a Hoosier.

We've dyno'd our ASP evo on the same dyno as an STU vette. I've driven an STU 350z. I see no reason to not allow 285's for everyone. There is no logical argument for limiting AWD to 245 tires at this point.
