CP9A Evo 5

Hello from Australia, I stumbled upon this place while googling for reviews about the Exotics Racing School in vegas as I am coming over there with my brothers in July for some fun and thought I might as well put some pics and details of my CP9A up

I bought it in december last year and it was delivered like so:

Size: 198.7 KB

Note the over abundance of stickers and very heavy average looking 18" wheels, combined with the one peice headlights it was a ricers wet dream...it was however mechanically very sound and ultra tidy...the previous owner was a very fastidious guy even if he did have a few issues with styling.

over the past few months I have set about making some changes to the setup and look of the car

Current specs:

CP9A Evo 5
Blitz Nur Spec Catback
Exedy HD clutch
Toysport Front pipe
Autobahn 888 Dump
Decatted
Tein HA coilovers
XXR 527 in 17x9.75 +25 wrapped in KU36's
Bride Gias Seats mounted to Koyuu rails
Aftermarket intercooler (known brand)
DBA 5000 Front rotors with A1RM pads all round
ARC gearknob
Nardi Deep corn wheel
Carbon bonnet

Car currently runs 15psi of boost, I am due to remap it soon so ill go to 23psi then...that should be enough to keep me happy for a while

I am also planning on mechanicalising the rear end as the AYC is far too intrusive for me...so that will either be via an RS rear end from NZ or a cusco 2 way in the AYC housing I havent made up my mind on that one yet.

Mate very clean 5 , looks like you got a nice clean example. Lots of good roads to play with our the hills down your way, got a little time in them a couple of years ago when I drove my 8 accross the country to Perth.

Ive done a little bit of work on this lately...went to the track 2 weeks ago for its maiden voyage and layed down a 1:23.3 as my best time for the day.

Identified a few areas for improvment on the car, first and foremost the KU36 rubber was not really cutting the mustard...next time im going to step it up again with some federal RSR's, whilst they are still just an Ultra high performance street tyre they should last a few more laps before going off.

Power was the next problem I was having...being pretty much stock power wise my brother in his red evo 5 was walking away from me on the straights...I set about amending this last friday by fitting the dump pipe, front pipe and race cat ive had sitting in my shed

pic of front pipe next to the old one:

car makes another 3psi of boost and sounds very angry now

next up is a 22psi actuator and aeromotive 340 stealth fuel pump

Then its off to SKR for a tune and hopefully I should see some numbers around the 220-230awkw realm.

I also got my hands on a Varis rear wing and the materials for a splitter and diffuser are on their way from the USA...Ive got no excuses for next time to crack under a 1:20!

I also found some time last weekend to smooth off my rocker cover and paint it with crinkle coat black...came out really well I thought!

not much has happened here lately...just waiting on my FIC 1050's to get here and then the car can go in for its E85 tune...also got a 22psi actuator and afformentioned fuel pump...tuner is estimating 260-270kw's at the wheels

also managed to finally arrange a swap for the carbon bonnet...now sporting a white one...should get time to paint it in the next couple of weeks...looks pretty funky all white

also I rarely condone the use of CF wrap on stuff but my B pillars were faded pretty badly and this was a lot easier than painting them

finally got the gearbox saga over before xmas and put some KM's on this...best economy on E85 has been 210kms to a 45L tank...lol

also put the stock wing back on as they look funny with no wing and tidied up a few things..took a couple photos today after a wash

But you get max rep on the forum

How did you find the E85 compared to 98? Quicker spool?

I like the design of the 5 spoke wheels in the first picture. Any info on those?
