Jspeed Flat Bottom for CT9A debut

For years flat bottoms have only been available to prototypes, professional race cars and high-dollar time attack cars. Jspeed is making these parts available to everyone with their own flat bottom product. Now we are happy to offer one such product to the EVO community for a special introductory price of $995.

Originally Posted by Bespoke Ventures blog

The part was never commercially successful, at least in part because of a high purchase price. As I said, “I think the most logical progression of this trend will be full under floors. Although they may be hard to market since they are so large and retuning them takes real engineering and wind tunnel time, the benefits of such a product are obvious.”

Fast forward to 2009 and I’m again posting about a car with a very interesting product on the underside. Jspeed specializes in parts for the Lancer Evo and Impreza WRX. They make a wide variety of products from exhausts to chassis bracing which Bulletproof has been distributing for years now. They recently debuted a new product that has me very excited. It is similar to the Dome piece in function, but due to a more efficient manufacturing process the price is a fraction of what the Dome piece was sold for.

This product would complement other underbody pieces like the Voltex front diffuser, Beatrush underpanels or Varis diffuser very nicely. It could also work very well on its own as a stealthy and effective performance modification. It is also going to be effective whether the car is daily driven or purely for competition. We are happy to take any inquiries for these pieces and they are available on the Bulletproof website (with more pictures there as well).

This looks like it has a lot of holes in it and is open in the middle? Better installed pics would be a definite help in assessing the benefit that might be achieved given its very JDM price.

you guys should really consider sponsoring c-spec tuning (v-boy425).The c-spec bumblebee is VERY well known out here in california and to the whole evo community.I know first hand you guys would get great recognition and a great representative.Think about how many people would see it on c-spec's car as they win races. Also, everyother TA team that would discuss your product with c-spec and most likely buy them for there own TA evo, seeing as they just got beat buy a car that has it!!

Any data supporting the proposed benefits in this design? Less drag? Lift decrease? Or an aggregate like lap times on a car with and without?

Does this block access to the jacking points on the side of the car? I really can't tell from the pics. This is not an issue that track only cars need worry about but with a DD/track car (who carries the stock jack for emergency on street duty) I just want to throw the question out there.

More info on installation?

This looks like a great product.

Thanks.
