If you go to Home Depot or any hardware store you can buy landscape fabric, I think if you put that behind your mesh grille it would take care of the "I can see into your engine bay" look. It's worth a try, I'll be trying that once I get time to install a custom grille.

Looks decent, but has that homemade look..
In my observation, it needs some thicker mesh, cut out the backside of the hood
for a cleaner flow and satin black everything out behind the grill and you've got it..
