Video: Night at the track 4-1-2011
Went to steele dragway (alabama international dragway, in Steele AL)
Figured i would share some little footage from that night to the public outside of the Forced induction sections, got a few more things coming my way still..
I was only at 13psi, ill be at 24psi hopefully for IFO on may 22nd at Montgomery motorplex dragway (mmp)
(FYI) oh.. and this is an Automatic Lancer OZ
And no i do not have my front fenders or bumper on it.. (weight reduction, DUH?!) lol (just kidding)

my 1/8 mile was alot slower then it was the week before, not sure what i changed to slow it down so much in the 1/8. goal was to hit 12s, but just couldnt quiet do it at only 13psi.
I was very dissapointed at the end of the night that i didnt do what i wanted cuz i felt like the car had it in it, but i kept messing up every launch. so o well.
i will be taken the car apart tomorrow to change a few things and to send off a few things to be fixxed.. once my issues are corrected ill be able to up the boost to 20 or 24psi depending on what my fueling system will allow.

Dam Kinda dissapointed to tell you the truth bro . I ran a worst 60 foot , full weight on 10 pounds stock motor and i have ran a 13.6 @ 104 . That was also with Evo stock downpipe , high flow cat and magnaflow exhaust , now i have a customer full 3 inch Tbe and at 12 pounds and will be back to break my old time

ya dude i know, the turbo lag is killing my 60' and 330' times on the stock Auto transmission. its murder without spray or tons of boost. its a completely different monster on a roll or highway kick.. My bosses gti i pace on the interstate from 40-120, he was doing 11.3s-11.5s all night pullen 1.6 60' times consistantly..
Car runs nothing like stock at all, its a complete handfull just to get moving now, Anyone tahts been around my car knows how big of a pain it has been just to figure out how to launch and shift and all that crap.
I Bog outa boost every other pass if i shift 300-500rpm to soon in any gear.
only 3 tenths faster then u and ur runnin 3 less psi.. o well.. still faster.. I was running 16psi on my stock motor on my last setup doing 12.8s.(or i should say, 3 12s passes till explosion)
It was doing 7.9s last week, and 8.1s consistantly (5 tenths faster) in the 1/8.. which should have put me in the mid to high 12s.. but i couldnt break anything but a 8.6 last night. not sure why, i didnt make many changes. Might have been because of the Big weather cold spout.
only difference from last week really was new plugs, and i wasnt revving 7k (causing some turbo lag issues if i dont rev past 6500) which might explain the slower 1/8 mile times
The 13psi is also the breakin boost level and also on a very conservative timing map.. havent fixxed all the issues yet to turn up the boost to 20-24 psi. and the tune is nowhere near considered 'dialed in' missing out on tons of power.
Needless to say, the Automatic tranmission will not be staying stock for much longer. ( ill do a few passes at 24psi, then its done, its all i wanted just to keep the 'fastest lancer w/ Stock automatic trans record'). I smell i big trq converter in the near future, to allow much better launches.. 2.2 60' times are rediculous.
goal for the summer is to get into consistant 1.7 60's.. will cure alot of issues and shave tons of time off the car.. the hardest thing to do is get the car into boost, and keep it in boost. But yet i still wish i went bigger on the turbo
the trans upgrades would actually allow me to run an even larger turbo then i have now..

Oh.. i outran.. 2 mustangs with spray(its a big deal in alabama, everyone owns a mustang here). one stock wrx sti. and one highcompression b20vtec with full valvetrain mods, maken big NA power honda EG hatch(that was the umm, money race) (actually the 1 slip im missing) I did a 13.1, he did a 13.6(cuz he missed 3rd, and he does 13flats normally) so the trip out to the track was actually a pay day instead of an expense. just ended up getting dissapointed about not being able to get into the 12s at only 13psi. ive only done 6 passes in the car.. one good launch would more then likely put me into the 12s. but im not worried about it, the low boost is part of the reason for the poor launchs anyways.
