Looks like you either lowered it without adding camber adjustment bolts, or just lowered it too far. Or, you've got it demon cambered out to where it just eats tires. Too much camber=tires get eaten up on the inside.

It doesn't look too aggressive from the photos. Did you fail to rotate them for a while?

I have less than a finger space between the tire and the inside wheel well but all wheel travel is vertical so it should never come in contact. I thought the same thing too though when it happened...

I lowered it and added camber bolts three years ago. Most of the tires life was spent on 0 camber (2 full summers). I've been running -1 camber this summer though (nothing too crazy, shouldn't be a problem). I've rotated the tires every summer, so there should be no excessive wear on any specific part of the tires. I'll check my other rear tire though and see if the inside is wearing out too quickly due to the camber.

Edit: Problem is the sidewall tore apart, not the tread (which is what aggressive camber would impact). The tread, even near the affected area, is fine. You can kinda tell in the picture...

I knew it had to be something like that. It didn't look super low, so you're probably right about the camber. I wish I could tell you what mine was set at with the Tein coilovers, but I sold the car a few months back and the sheet with the alignment specs went with it.

Yokohama wouldn't replace the tire but gave me a pretty good discount on a new one

ps I promise that floor isn't actually in my apartment, just the entryway
