Installing Injen CAI....Tips?
I want to find out who used what method(s) when installing the Injen CAI. Did you find it easier to do taking the bumper off? Or removing the tire and splash gaurd? Also, did anyone cut a hole next to the foglight to force more air in? Or cut a hole underneath the car with some type of scoop? It seems like not much air will be getting to the filter. Suggesstions? I'm installing tomorrow finally after having for a week!! Thanks
Removing the bumper is not necessary at all. Underneath the car in front of the driver-side wheelwell are some plastic splashgaurd panels. Using a flathead screwdriver you can pop the inserts out that hold them together and remove them to get to where you need the filter to be. Putting the front end up on jackstands can be quite helpful as well - to give you room to work. I didn't put the car up, and it was a bit of a pain, but still doable.
No, the only cutting I did was on one side of the "box" that the panels make up to allow the piping to fit. This isn't a "Ram-Air" type of setup, so it doesn't need a direct airflow to perform well - that little boxed area is far from airtight, and I seriously doubt that removing it would promote enough extra airflow to offset the extra amount of dirt/debris etc. that would hit the filter. However, you can just leave all the splash panels off entirely if you are worried about hampered airflow.
turbo nutter is rite on. Its easy to pop those plastic holders out. If you jack the frun of the car up and have a buddy help you. It should make for a easy install. I went a step farther.. After the install I used some firewall heat sheilding and lined that hole side of my engine compartment. I blocked off all air holes that could lead engine air in to the fender well. I even lined under the battery where there is a large hole that u can see the air filter from. While I was installing the intake. I could see light comming though around the fog lamp. This lead me to bleave that a fair amount of air would be let in from around this light once the car is in motion. But if u wanted too u could just remove that fog lamp. On nice days it would let in nice cool air. BUT I would allways put it back in during any rain!

I just finished installing an INJEN CAI today along with a NX Mainline N2O system. I removed the upright plastic piece completly and retained the battery box. You do however have to remove the stock intake airbox bracket like the instructions say. I have to say that I am fricking amazed at the sound and performance it gives! I haven't filled the bottle yet but it sounds (even if it doesn't quite perform) like it has a turbo. You wouldn't believe the head snaps you'll get during a drive by. All with a CARB exemtion numbers! FYI if you do go with a N2O system you can use the vac port for installing a pirana nozzle if you cut it down and tap it (thread it). Makes for a very clean install. I have to retrieve my digital camcorder tommorow and take some pics.

Sounds awesome... i really want to see the pics!! I plan on the injen CAI too... i just want to know more about the N2O System. Lets see it! Where did you acquire the N2O?
