intake manifold

Anyone have a "how to" on the intake manifold. i'm no mechanic, but want to see how much time, and how difficult this is. Thanks.

its just very time consuming..... well for me it was since i had to go back and forth to buy proper tools. i would say just say a day off for this job. its not really hard, just the fact of taking it off and putting the RRM one and remembering where all the hoses and stuff are. I guess a helpfull thing that worked for me was, as ur taking it apart all the bolts and stuff, have the new IM near you so you can just put it in it and when you have both manifolds next to each other swap the bolts on the other one so you know where everything went and basicly backtrack. hope that helped at all....

Which proper tools were you lacking? I'd like to know if there's anything I don't have before I dive into that this spring.

Talk about reviving an old thread hehe .

I have a few questions:
1.Are there any of these parts that can be taken off and switched over to the new IM after taking out the old IM, or do you have to take EVERYTHING out BEFORE even thinking of unbolting the old one?
2.Do you need a new throttle body gasket for the installation or can you reuse the old one (since people would rather replace it with the phenolic spacer)?

you can transplant everything, and IF the gaskets are good, reuse them, after all they are made out of metal

yeah, there are only a few things that need to be disconnected to get it out. it was easier than I expected it to be.

none of the plugs will fit where they don't belong. as long as you remember them, and the car probably won't run if you forget one, you shouldn't have any problems. the bolts and nuts are self explanatory as well; if you don't end up with extras you are fine and if you do have extras keep looking for where they go.
