Steering wheel question

OK, I read the Momo/Evo wheel install sticky. My question is slightly different. My Sportback is an LS, so it has the regular wheel. I purchased an OEM Ralliart style wheel from Ebay. It is the Mitsubishi OEM wheel for the Ralliart version of the Lancer, not a knock off without an airbag. It is leather-wrapped, my standard wheel is not.

What I want to do is:

Remove my steering wheel

Remove the airbag module from my steering wheel ( the "new to me" wheel is without the airbag module)

Put the old airbag in the new steering wheel

Reattach everything and enjoy my new OEM steering wheel, now leather wrapped.

I would think once I get the steering wheel off the car, the airbag module would come off fairly easy ( looks to be a couple of screws that hold it to the wheel) but I was wondering if anyone here had done it yet.

Great DIY on the wheel removal though.

Removal of the wheel will be exactly the same, however, I'd recommend getting a dealer to reinstall your airbag. The last thing you want to do is screw that up.

Thats my .02

im 99% sure its not possible to do that. the airbag is modled into the stock steeringwheel. now if you had the evo momo steering wheel , the entire airbag module pops out really easy, so you could put a new airbag into the momo one. soooooo ask the dealer.
