Tint on RA

The new tint I got put on my RA. It has a mirror to black fade. the back window go upwards, back window stays stright, and the other side windows fade back down. Also had a Tint strip put on the windshield, mirror fade going downwards.

I don't know about Sacramento, but in New York that's a no-no with po-po. My neighbor used to live in Florida and drove her car up with that very same tint and within 2 weeks got 1 ticket and the second cop made her start peeling it off in front of him to avoid another ticket.

Not my style, but looks good. Good luck.

Thanks everyone! I figured I would try something different then what I see driving around Sac. THe tint guy said this was the first time anyone has asked him to fade the mirror. If anyone in the Sacramento, CA area is intrested I can give you the guys number. He did the job for $250 where everywhere else in Sac wanted over $300, for just the back windows.

Cool

Regarding dark tint legality, this may not apply to all states, but in Oregon, all I had to do was get a prescription/waiver from my Optometrist (photosensitive eyes), and my dark glass is legal (it is VERY dark @ 70% UV reduction!) I have to keep the script in the car though. Haven't got pulled over yet. One of the few times being an eyeglass wearer was a good thing!

I have to agree, but if you like it that's all that matters....and it does look like it was done correctly.
Give me my 20% smoke film and I am happy!

Cool

Here's my glass. Cost a lot, but well worth it, and it has a lifetime warranty. Also had them put a strip in the front window. I also finally painted the middle symbols on the wheels to match the Lightening yellow paint. The Magnaflow Exhaust is getting welded on tomorrow. The antenna on this pix is 3" longer than the one installed now, and I didn't have RRM SRI at that time. Haven't had this much fun with a car since I was eighteen years old!

I personally like all mirror tint or a dark smoke. It depends on the car. I have a silver Ford Probe with mirror and that looked nice as hell. My goldish-tan protege had 20% black and it looked ok. I have 32% all-around on my TG RA and I like it a lot. I think I should have went a little darker. I've never been fond of the mirror fade to black tint. Though I have seen it on a couple of cars that looked pretty good.

Thats mine, thats the 'dark as legally possible' tint. The back half of the car came tinted when new, but is even darker now. Haven't been stopped by the cops yet... well except for random alcohol breath testing- you can see them eyeing up the car looking for something to give me grief over... but other than tinting, so far its stock... for now.
