HELP (car audio)

Anyone that knows anything about car audio, I’m planning of getting two Alpine Type R 1241D subs, and an Alpine Deck(one of the higher end models), I am trying to decide on an amp I can get that will put about 600 watts to each sub. I’m not sure what kind to buy though. Any ideas?

I would stay away from the alpine subs. I had some type r 10's and they were not all that great sounding. You should throw up a price range and I can help recommend some.

I would tend to agree alpine is known for the decks not their subs. But the main thing about subs and setup isn't all about how much power they get but how clean the power is and the enclosure/setup you have. The setup you get will effect sound more than most people thing so make sure you get a good custom box built to match what your subs need Sealed enclosures also produce sharper sound than ported boxes. Its pretty obvious by my avatar which brand of sub and amps I use in my car. But whatever you get just make sure you dont cut corners on stuff like wireing enclosure conectors etc.

At the shop i work in we installed 2 type r's with 1000 watt D class to each, used 1/0 gauge for each amp also built a pretty big custom box taking the whole back seat of a 99' s10. it hit's harder than i expected, and it looks like good stuff.

Type R's sound pretty good, are they as good as JL Audio W7's or W6's...NO but they do sound good. I'd take em over W0's or W3's. The Alpine's should be Dual voice coils so you should have flexibility in wiring them up. Go with a nice, clean BIG class D and you should be ok.
