What you guys should do is just go online to paintscratch.com, get all of the necessary priming supplies, then they can match your oem paint code if you provide them with the paint code. I painted eyelids on my civic using their stuff and it sure beats the hell outta taking it to a body shop and letting them charge you an arm and a leg to paint two dinky little eyelids. And it turns out just as well if you do it right and dont half *** it. levineautoparts.com also makes them in the spray cans that work pretty well from what I have heard also.

My paint code is A31, Cool Metallic Silver.

Anyway, after Christmas I've gotten enough money for the $50 eyelids and $65 paint job.

Man I'm lazy, but not $65 lazy. I think that is enough for me to get off my but and get them painted myself. Of just not get them at all. :P

Exactly, its only an eyelid, its not like your painting a fender or front bumper. It will take at most a half hour of your time to get everything finished. Its very easy with the right tools.

The right tools are something I don't have. And I want to make sure the eyelids match with the rest of the body.

Actually the only tools you really need is sandpaper, i should have clarified that better, sorry. The spray cans you obviously dont need any tools.

Unfortunately spray cans are not the best solution for a good job.. If your paint has alot of flakes or is a color such as silver it is sound advice to have them professionally painted. When you add up the costs of the materials to do it yourself you have cut the price by about half of what we charge. Too many that may seem worth it, but myself personally would rather invest my time elsewhere and be assured that I am getting a pro-finish with OEM paints.

What would be great is if several people needed the same color painted eyelids so the price would be lower for supplies. You would think someone would offer a group discount if so many people are interested.

I have seen people paint the entire door panels with spray cans they got online. Just as long as you apply it right and know what you are doing, then it will turn out perfect. I had my old civic eyebrows on my car for over two years and they were just as good the first day I put them on.
