CF radiator cover!

Ok, so yesterday I stopped by Carbon by Design located in Oceanside, CA. I picked up some CF eyelids, CF license plate surround, and a CF fuel door. Anyway, he was looking at my car and asked to see the engine bay. So, I popped the hood. He knows that CarbonTrix already makes the fuse cover and valve cover, and asked if there was anything we needed.

I'm like YEAH, how about a radiator shroud that actually fits the RalliArt. He was down with that and said to bring my car back in 3 weeks so he can order some wax to do a mold. Then I guess they lay fiberglass on top of the mold, then CF on top of that. Anyway, the whole process should take like 4 hours and I get the first one free!!!

It should look like this:

Kick a$$. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Herez there current link for the Lancer. Their specialty though is the SRT-4.

Cool! Hey reTro, I was thinking about the carbon fiber license plate surround, and was wondering is it too much of a contrast against the Cool Silver?

You can get one on ebay for 20 bucks shipped. May not be REAL but they are still pretty good.

I have Cool Silver too and already installed it. I think it looks pretty tight. I'll post picz in a few dayz... camera is being borrowed right now! They only thing is I don't think the stock Ralli tails look quite right with it. They need to be smoked or black instead of the chrome.

ive been wanting one of these for a while. i thought about getting an evo one and modding it to fit. i don't think it would take much modification to fit right but if someone is making one specifically for the RA then that is even better

Good idea!!! When I'm there I'll ask them about one! Would you guys like a shaved one with license plate relocated to the bumper or... OEM style? If we relocate, it might look funny just drilled to the bumper?!

Give me opinions!

OEM-style! So we can tell what *** that is from a distance! Besides, for those that want the shaved trunk, couldn't you just buy both an '02-'03 rear bumper and CF trunk?

02-03 lancer parts don't fit our cars... i think the mold/shape is entirely different, otherwise all my parts that i need to be replaced from damage would definitely be from 02-03's since they're more common to find replacements for..

I thought the only thing Mitsubishi changed exterior-wise was the bumpers, hood, trunk, headlights, and fenders.
