if you want knock offs check ebay. Any brand name seat selling signifigantly lower than the manufacturers price is most likely a fake. The downside is that they're probably (not always but probably) poorly made and might cause injury if involved in an accident.

recommendations for seats:
sparco
corbeau
status
d.a.d - (these are pretty inexpensive and I've heard good things)
bride
momo
recaro

I really suggest you save up and buy the real thing, if you can't afford sparco at least try to get a name brand seat. Proper rails ect..... You do not want to meet your windshield head on

I have tenzo rally type seats, they are EXCELLENT. I dont see spending nearly 1200 bucks for a good pair of seats. Ive sat in sparco milanos, and they really werent all that great, and the guy paid an a$$load for them. As far as safety features, if somebody could tell me how the sparcos are safer, and have PROOF, I would LOVE to see it.

safety all depends on who is installing them... if you do it right you shouldnt be worried

is the knockoff / cheaper seats FIA approved for racing?
is the knockoff / cheaper seats SCCA approved?

the knock off seats in general will "work" but they are not safety tested and they don't go through the same approvals as the more expensive seats. also if you look at the actual construction of the seats, you will see they have better mounts, better bolts, etc.. on the sparco / recaros

there are things in my car that i won't go cheap on

seats
brakes
tires

because at the end of the day, if any of these fail, i won't be able to enjoy the money i saved from going cheap

LOL and my bro used to have them... But like I said I've never sat in them! He swore by them though... I think they were really pricey though...

Take into consideration too, Mitsubeastin, that you're going to be paying more if you want a seat that will recline, too

is that each or for the pair. Even at each thats still a nice deal....i might even give them a try out.

there are some quality brand seats out there that nobody's ever heard of. all it takes is a couple people to try them, like them, rave about how good they are, then they become popular and everybody wants them.
