car got clipped - thoughts?

so i took my car on campus for the first time today - of course it gets hit while parked on the street - it looked much worse before i cleaned off the dirt/paint from the other car - there are also a couple of fine sratched on the rear door that look like the will come off with some compund

main damage is to the quarter panel to the front of the tire and the bumper behind the tire

it just makes me furious that someone could hit another car and not leave a note - maybe it just makes me so mad because i have had it less than a week

went and got a quick estimate - around $500 to have it looking pretty much like it did before

so at this point i am thinking that i will just get some touch up paint from mitsu and clean up the spots where the paint was damaged

any thoughts on if it will look ok with just a touch up?

Hard to tell from the pictures, so it can't be too bad. $500 is cheap enough to not have to bring your insurance into it.

ya i can see the slight damage if you bring it to a body shop that can do paintless dent removals you might just need to get it poped out should be ok..

doesnt look bad tho not to worry.

better pics - update

took a couple more pics now that it is not quite so brite outside

looks like my public safety department might actually be worth something - i was parked right across the street from the career center - so, they think they will be able to get video of the car that hit me - can you say 'leaving the scene of an accident' - i can!

I swear RA's are a magnet for accidents. Ever since I've got mine I've had so many close calls with people trying to change lanes into me, pretty much once a day.

I feel bad for ya man, jerks who hit and run should be pulled behind the vehicle they hit for a dozen blocks or so to teach them a lesson. At least the damage doesn't look that bad, hopefully you can get away with one of the paintless dent repairs. I know a shop here in town does them and does a great job for super cheap.

check out the second set of pics - the deformed areas are circled in red - you can definetly see the distortion in the reflection

i know the dent/damage isnt really all that bad - its just the thought of it on my brand new car that kills me - i mean i just broke 300mi today

if i can't pin the cost on the f***er that did it - i will just live with it - unless i can do paintless dent removal, as was suggested

I agree with the paintless dent repair idea. Damage looks minimal. I understand your frustration man. I love my new RA. My g/f gives me a hard time about parking far away from everything. I went to TGI Fridays when I had my 2002 Lancer OZ and my door got creased from some jerkoff and I went ballistic. Got the Dent Doctor to remove the crease for $50.00.

Walbomb I totally agree...Ever since I got my car ive been in 2 accidents, 2500 and 1500...And not to long ago I was in Philly at Pat's and Geno's and some idiot just runs into me at a stop sign..I get out, check out my car.. Stared at the guy for like 5 mins and he just sat in his car like nothing happened.. I was so pissed that I didnt even feel like dealing with the a$$.. Luckily no damage..But yeah I hate to say it but this car has been a nightmare for me...

i dont know how it is in the states, but sometimes you can get your ins. company to waive your deductible for a hit & run.

I'm starting to suspect these cars come with a some sort of a stealth field generator with all the people trying to drive through me like I'm not even there.
