Heres the how-to for the lightweight braille battery. You lose about 40 pounds from the front end, but it doesnt have a very long life and you have to modify it minimally to get it to fit. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...weight+battery

Personally, I'd rather do a battery relocate to the trunk than put a mini under the hood. Keep the extra battery power, and help even out the weight distribution.

Optima batteries are great, I plan to get one when the time for a new battery/feel like it comes. I use them in the utilities at work (mine site) and they last longer, take more abuse, take longer to go flat if you leave the headlights or something on - and being sealed gel cell batteries - they don't LEAK!! no fuzzy acidic stuff on terminals, or batt acid splashing out of them from driving rough terrain.

I dont even know what the Evo's alternator output is. Any alternator can be upgraded to put out more power, generally at the expense of longevity. A good alternator shop can upgrade any alternator.

Power(Watts) = Voltage(V) x Current(amps).

What I would do is figure out how many amps my amplifier draws and determine how much amperage my alt puts out. Some amp manufacturers will state the currrent draw at rated power in the manual. We all know there are lots of manufacturers who claim 1000, 2500, hell maybe even 10000 watt amps. Are many of them really capable of delivering.. HELL NO. most arent. A 900 watt amp probably draws around 60amps at rated power. Generally speaking, an extra 60amp draw on your vehicle's electrical system is allot of extra load. If your car cant produce 60 extra amps then your amp isnt producting 900watts.

I see what you are saying but my question is if it does what you are saying wouldnt my cap see a huge drop when the bass hits? (im runnin a digital cap btw) I usually only see a 1-3 volt drop when it hits really hard an i hear my amp sucks a lot of juice. (Im runnin a hifonics brutis amp at 2 ohlms)

Yes, unless it costs $50 to ship it from here.

Actually, that one's not an exact fit for the RA, but if you were using it in the trunk to power an amp, that wouldn't matter.

ok some update... the yellow top goes for about $159.99 and the red top for about $109.99... The only issue is that the right side for our cars is not available anywhere not even on the factory... it has to be a special order and it will take over a months.... ahhh my stock battery won't last that long am running over 3000watts and lcd tv.... the size is d-51... the only size avalable at the stores is the d-34 which is too big....

If you're running that kind of power, you need to be more concerned with a bigger alternator. No matter which battery you use, a stock alternator won't be able to keep up with the demand of a 3k watt system. All the battery is for is to start the car.

If you're running that system a lot with the car off, you should consider a second battery, as well as the high-output alternator.

well I finally got the yellow optima battery... The model # d-34 does fit our cars... You just have to do som eadjustments to make the positive side reach the terminal... other than that it's actually a little smaller than factory.... the battery is perfect... power is always there 100%... I can actually turn my system on higher than before and the lights don't dim, and the system don't skip a beat....
