I hear ya. I was also thinking about painting the center of my hood black to kind of match what you are saying just not in CF. That might be a little too much black though. Maybe I could do the black in the center and put the decal from above on it in white! Then I could really put my name on the back window in old-english. I could even throw on some 120 spoke gold thirteens so that they stick out a foot from the fender and I could put on some sick curb finders!

Spinners! Spinners! Jk
If you go carbon fiber hood, I say give the hood its full justice and dont paint it. That would be your best bet. Lighter weight, and a respectable look. Not sure where to search though, I can find ya an evo hood, but I know that does not help....

Ohhhhh yeahhhhh, hub-cap spinners!

Actually I just looked and they are still making the competition hood and discontinued the Evo hood. Things are starting to look up! If I do the hood in CF I would have to get the RA CF wing too!. Anyone have $1k that they want to barrow me?

In a word, yes; if by ricey, you mean 'looks like crap.'

I've always wondered, if people in asian countries see something on a car that they think looks like crap, do they say that it looks 'burger-y' or 'hot-dog-y' or 'piey'?

i like the idea of painting the center black like you said earlyer, the flames are a bit much though. Dont get CF if you dont have a garage/car cover too.

I was checking that one out too. I had the same debate whether it would look too cheesey or not.

Seriouly, maybe you should make the Mitsu symbol a bit bigger and eliminate the flames, and make it fade towards to back. It'll blend better plus it'll cover more of your hood and be a bit more subtle.

I have a garage and my car is always parked in it so no worries there.

That might actually look pretty good. I don't think you can make the symbol much bigger than it is though without it going off of the hood. Maybe I will see if they can do something like that. It would be kind of hard to do with vinyl though don't you think?

..."unique"..."not bad"...are you people NUTS???

YES, it is EXTREMELY ricey, dont do it. The Lancer looks nice and with a set of wheels/tires it looks even better. Stickers (at least in the size range you are suggesting) make it look like crap. If you're gonna put stickers, do something low key, something that acts in unison with the styling, NOT something that overpowers it.

Just my 2 cents...

my general "rule" is that extra-bold designs pretty much are ok only on sub-11 second cars. That having been said, the design is a little much, but it's a cool idea. If you had a carbon hood and did that in reverse (painted the negative of that in white) that might be pretty cool. Whatever you decide, if you like it just do it.
