Capacitor question

Just bought a 1.0 farad capacitor. I know essentially how to wire it...but my question is -
a) can I ground it to the same place my amp is grounded to? &
b) can I lay it down? (my amp is under my passenger seat and your supposed to keep the capacitor within a couple of feet of the amp)

Thanks for the quick responses, should have it installed tomorrow...will the 4 gauge I have kicking around be sufficient, or should I go even bigger?

depends. how many watts are you pushing? assuming your pushing around 1000w 4 gauge is plenty.
