accolade mesh grilles

now this maybe the way they make all of these grilles but its very cheap. the mesh is being held up by 3 breakable little clips on the bottom and held by nothing on the top. i feel like the mesh is going to blow off when i drive down the road. does anyone else have grilles that look like this? sorry i cant get pics until i buy a new digital camera.

Yes, they are normally like that. But can't complain for $40 really. Get some zip ties, spray paint the whole thing with some black matte, and a few layers of clearcoat. The paint will chip very quickly. Mine are almost silver.

i had one grille fall off when i was driving. what you do is take them both off and use some silicone around the whole edge and put them back on that way, much sturdier.

There are OEM mesh grilles that are super high quality, but they're super high priced, too. Double check the prices, though, I remember last year at MOD, Mitsubishi gave away a ton of them because they weren't selling (gee, wonder why?) so they may have lowered the price.

i bought the accolade mesh grille awhile back, first think i noticed when i took it out of the package was how cheap it looked...it was in four pieces, two mesh grilles, and 2 plastic trim pieces. anyways while going to install it, one of the plastic pieces broke, i admit it was my fault but come on...it looked good in the picture on the website, but in person, mine didnt even fit, i prolly broke it tryin to make it fit, oh well oh and you answer your question, the grille didnt seem like it would stay firmly in place when i first tried to install it, so i wouldnt be surprised if it flew off while driving

if i haven't bought mine off of an evom member (the oem mesh one) then my second alternative would've been this jdm ebay one thats for like $60 shipped. just go to ebay and type in lancer ralliart, they always have it, but yeah i think someone should try that one

the accolade grille is pretty crappy. i was kinda disappointed when i got mine because the paint came all chipped. it definitely was not worth 50 bucks. i just repainted them about a week ago and they look so much better.

hey miquelralliart, your ra is turboed? i never knew that. what kind is it? and did your friend get the tails yet?

Exclamation

I had the Accolade v2 mesh grills and they were perfect! Great quality and much better than v1. I had them for 6months and they never fell off and I drive pretty damn fast, . I sold them because I got the OEM mesh grill for free at the MOD06 last year because Mitsubishi was giving them away.
