Painted my tails
update : more photos on bottom of the page and on page 2
i was planing on buying the DEPO tails from RRM but i figured id try painting them first i went to my local hobby shop and picked up a can of this

a lot of people said to wet sand them first but i figured if it looked bad i could buy the DEPO ones
i washed them and masked off the bottom ( didnt want the whole thing blacked out)

8 light coats later with 30 minutes between coats i was relived they looked so good, could have gone a little darker but i ran out of paint, should have bought 2 cans
what do you think

for comparison

I got the deppo tails because they take the ugly chrome away but the tail lens stays clear. Looks alright, but you need to go darker if anything. I dont really see a difference in color there.
I'm not sure how well that stuff works on exterior parts. I use that stuff on model cars and it scrapes away pretty easily unless you prep the surface properly... Just my .02 though. Go darker if anything. I'd rather get the depo's cause i hate chrome. But I just can't justify spending anymore money on cosmetics.

Yeah it does look too dark to be legal. Hope you don't get pulled over. It looks cool though. Just get a rear window brake light from and es lancer or evo.
