Painted roof?

Has anyone with an RA painted their roof? For example, I've seen some evos on these forums with cf hood, cf trunk, and painted black or black vinyl roof to match. I was wondering if any RA owners have done that?

I have been toying with the idea of painting my roof black just due the fact it has so many scratches (previous owner must have constanly drug stuff across the top. Scion TC and Audi A3' s have the top painted black along with new M3's. It probably wouldn't look too bad.

Quality vinyl is pretty strong, and its not too expensive.
I'd suggest that rather then spending a lot more money to paint
and in the event you don't like it, you can just peel it off.

no, technically it protects it, so when u remove it, the rest of your paint will be lighter then whats under the vinyl haha

I think any sign shop can do it for you and most likely install it. Just make sure you don't get the cheap vinyl and opt for the more expensive stuff.

I don't think you'll be able to tell the fade difference in the bumper unless you leave it on for a couple of years...

Does anyone have an estimate of what they think this would cost? I would guess maybe $150-$200 to have a roof covered.

I don't think it will be that big of a difference because I removed the badges from my car (which i later put back on when i thought I was going to sell it) and they had been on for over 2 years and never have had the car repainted. No fading, and on top of that my trunk sits in the sun all the time because the parking lot I park on is slanted and the front of my car is always pointed down.

Though it would have been pretty cool to have a ghosting affect of "lancer" on my car...
