Holy ****! Was that supposed to be stainless steel?

 

Wow the more I hear about these salt horror stories/pictures ,the more I'm glad I live in a place where the only salt around is in the water or on a girls neck.

My rrm axle back is nowhere near that and it's been on my car since 2005

 

I wondered the same thing... Funny thing is that I don't see it on their site anymore. Wonder if they discontinued it because of this?

Edit: its obviously not stainless steel though. Wanted to see if it was advertised as such. I don't remember.

 

That was my next question these have been discontinued for a few years now and replaced by the catback system. How did you get one 6 months ago?

 

I've had the axle back since 05 as well.. Joined the navy in 09 and had the car up there for about 6 months. Been in San Diego since then and just got around to looking at it.

Gonna replace it with the cat back eventually. Luckily I have a friend who can weld.

 

Well it's not the prettiest thing I've ever seen but its not like I could do any better. If it works , that's all that matters.

 

Precisely. Really doesn't matter if it doesn't look good IMO. Its all hidden anyway.

 

i would have used beer cans and jb weld

 

if it was 409SS it would only surface rust. I am shocked to be honest, I have seen the RRM catback and it is 409SS, no idea what happen to yours.
