Blown tweeter!?!
Blown tweeter!?!
On the way to work today, I noticed that my passenger side tweeter was sounding a little different than my driver's side. It's definitely got a lot more "sizzle" and "hiss" than the other. So, I'm thinking I may have blown it. What's a good way to determine if I have indeed blown the tweeter? I have the Infinity package (still stock).
Also, if it is blown, anybody have any good recommendations on replacement speakers to get?

If your tweeter is blown, the higher frequencies should at least sound like coming from and old AM radio (Kzzz instead of Tsss)... but most of the time, the affected tweeter would most likely just die and that's it.
If you put an ear to it and it doesn't produce and sound, ask Mitsubishi to replace it because the stock stereo equipment is tuned in a way that you shouldn't be able to blow anything up... if you push it too far, it should just sound like s**t (distortion all over the place) and that's about it.
Now, if there is only a slight difference in sound quality from one side to the other, you might have a hard time getting your dealer to admit your tweeter has a problem... and that would suck big time!
