RE: Component set Install

Has anyone installed a comp set yet? I need info on wiring up the crossover. I haven't taken the door off yet and I don't know if they're is already wiring from the tweeter in place they're or do you need to run new wire to it through the door? I kinda want to know this before I take the door off and find out....hehe

i have already put components into door. it depends where you want to put the tweets. i decided to put mine in the little triangle thingy on the door next to the window. so i had to run the wire from the Cross over to that little section, not too hard. if your gonna mount it somewhere else then your gonna have to run wires through the door into the cabin. the real tricky part for me was to find out where to put the crossover, i decided to take out the styrophone chunk when you remove the door. you cant miss it. remember ***when taking off the door, it is easier to by removing the triangle pods then sliding the door off. good luck and be careful.

Ok. So presuming then that i'm mounting the tweeters in the stock location and the crossovers are goin' into the doors. Is it required to run new wire?

what do you mean stock location of the tweeters? i thought the lancer didnt have them, in that case go ahead and put them inbut you absolutely need to run a wire fromt he crossover to the tweet. so you have two terminals for the speaker wire from the Headunit, then you have two terminals for the wire that goes to the new 5" (or whatever size), then two more terminals for the wire that goes to the tweet, then you should have one terminal left over, this is to alternate between the response in sound from the speaker (makes it louder or lower) ill draw you a diagram in a minute.
