Split Second PSC1
Split Second PSC1
Ok I'm doing my research since I'm thinking about doing a turbo and I ran into Thunder-rush setup and Modernracer's and I like them both and I think they are using the same turbocharger T3/T4, well anyways my question is can I install the split second psc1 in my car before I turbo it and then tweak it as need be after I install a turbo?. I read that you can use it in both N/A setups and Forced induction, cuz honestly that's the only thing that worries me the fuel management. Oh and Thunder-rush how easy was it to install it? and I read that they have several versions of the PSC1 that are compatible with MAP, MAF, AFM and Karman Vortex applications. Which one did you use?
RRM uses the same unit for N/A and for their turbos. maybe they'd sell you one and you could get both maps. try calling or PMing then. At least their turbo map might be a good base for your turbo job.
I use RRM N/A piggy for my car, but RRM uses other SS unit for their turbo aplication. Mine is an of the shelf N/A unit and I adjusted it to "tone down" the excess amount of fuel my very big injectors spray. I basically use it as an MAF translator or adjustable clamp and that is what it actually does. If you want something more straight forward contact RRM and see what they can hook you up with.
So do you still have your stock ECU in and use SS unit as a piggy?. I'm doing some research cuz I liked your setup and I'm trying to learn cuz this would be my first ever turbo project. So what kind of aftermarket injectors fit on our cars?.
i use the Megasquirt MSII V.3 this is your best bet, it is the most flexible unit, although you need to be a little handy in Electronics to install this unit.
Here is picture of my unit

this unit can be used for N/A and for turbo, and features an on board MAP sensor, and this is a Fully stand alone unit, so i no longer have my stock ECU in the car, the MSII is controlling all the engine systems

yeah I read your post about your setup and the wiring and it does look nice. So why didn't you setup your A/C to run with the MSII? I'm curious since if I were to use it I would need my A/C I live in Miami...lol.

well i will be setting it up in the spring, we just didn't have time to get it up and running, it's just a matter of setting the correct maps to increase idle speed when turning on the a/c, cuz at this point when tuning on the a/c the car almost stalls, cuz the computer doesn't know what to do, so it's a minor fix, but i'll look at it in the spring when i take the car back out.
if you use SplitSecond's solution... you need the Karman Vortex version of the box. That box is only available through RoadRace or through private sell.
I have 1 for sale if you're interested. It comes with the R4 Software. If you buy from RoadRace, you'll have to pay extra for the software.
PM if you want it.

As I tread, on regular piggy by SS you can't adjust ignition and timing... but the model FTC allow you to play with these...
I sold my N/A piggy to get something better if I want to setup correctly.
Modern how about this Megasquirt ? I would love to talk to you about this unit and your setup...
