On topic: Heres the link for the SMT-6 I bought SMT-6

They are cheap and can be tunned and used for lots of stuff and they support Frequency MAF and REGULAR MAF and our CRANK SIGNAL. 265.00 Who can beat that it has MORE FEATURES THAN RRM and is easy as hell to install

or if you already have RRM's NA piggy you can use it too. You can't control timing with it but for low boost levels (and up to 10 or 11 psi according to some members) it will work fine. Your ECU will pull timing to prevent damage if it needs to, which is a bad thing but that's how you do it the cheap way I will do extensive logging after the install to make sure I am not creating issues trying to work around timing, if so I will be shooting for the SMT-6. Sounds like a pretty good piece of equipment, especially since it will AFR tune real time

no call road race and talk to them about it, i thought the same thing as you until the i talked to them and they explained the whole thing to me, there N/A ecu and there turbo ecu are two different things and they work differently, the N/A does'nt control timing and there is no way you can make it do that it is'nt made for that. But the turbo piggy is capable of being tuned to accomidate somthing like that.

isn't that what I just said? obviously it's not good to have the knock sensor control timing for you, and if I do have knock you can bet I will buy a timing controller, but it has been done this way and until I can prove it dangerous through research it's as good as anything else. One of the people I have spoken to has been using the NA piggy for well over a year with a custom turbo setup.

Like I said, I'm convinced running low amounts of boost will be perfectly alright on the stock ecu and timing. We will most definitely find out, my project is nearing fruition

yeah i gotta start doing guages nd stuff, but found my grommet hole in the firewall is full, gotta try and drill it larger
lol also its noob, but im scared of tapping the vac/boost guage, coz i know for alot of things u need this same line and i dont want to tap too many things and loose proper readings
ie: need to tap BOV, wastegate, and guage. how did u do urs
i read the FPS line off the mani is best coz its and "always on" connection

Yeah, migueralliart my nick means the rock band. If you know them, you'll probably love the songs, the artist in the ambulance, deadbolt and identity crisis. By the way Thanks for the info for the smt-6. I''ll continue to check all the option I've for the rest of the setup. Hoping that one day I'll go F/i.

BOV will tap into the PCV system, same as boost gauge. wastegate should be tapped right after the turbo. realistically it should be directly before the throttle body for accuracy, but the shorter the line the less lag you will see on the wastegate opening. you don't want boost spikes and the more vacuum line you run the longer it takes everything to fill up with air, especially if you use the minimum required line size. right after the turbo will let the wastegate get the fastest response time.

I've seen on the rrm website that they make turbo kit non intercooled for the 2.0L. So with a custom kit with only 5 psi for the 2.4 do we need absolutly an intercooler ? I know it's better but I don't think to have too much heat to have knock in the block ...

I want to built a custom setup. I think about an evo manifold fit on RA flange. I just want a small turbo, around 4-5 psi not more. I don't want big performance, i just want to be a little more faster...

My question is : Do you think the OEM stuff can be ok to ''support'' the setup. Do the injector and fuel pump will be ok for only 4-5 psi. Do I need to change the ECU for something like piggyback ? Does it change something for the oem MAF the see some boost because in real life it see only ''flow''.

I'll be waiting your comment and see what I will do with that .
i dont feel like reading everyone posts but if you have any questions just pm me. i could let you know of some websites to check out for parts, also you could ask dangerous dan, he schooled me on a lot of things i didnt know about turbo setups.
