I said, since you know how to read, how do the units control fuel.

the safc unit will not work for the RA, nor will the SMT6. the mapecu2 is in development(see my other thread, which has been put on the backburner) and the AEM FIC and Split Second PSC units both work on the RA. you can buy the AEM anywhere, but it does not come with a base tune for the RA as far as I know. the Split Second unit you can buy from www.roadracemotorsports.com and it does come with a base map.

if you do have the time and patience, as well as technical knowledge, feel free to tackle one of the units you mentioned although the car is pretty much dead we still need more people to try things out.

also, perfect power has a product called let it rip that intercepts the injector signal instead of an air meter signal. it "could" work on the RA.

btw dan, i highly doubt the FIC will control ignition/timing. knowing what i know now, it's very very difficult to control timing 100% on the RA

from the cam and cranks sensors, yes. from the coil packs themselves it should be very simple. I have not had the need or the time to play too much with it yet, but pulling 30* at idle yielded a poorly running RA so I am sure it at least works in the short term.

the odd signal cam and crank sensors will cause problems on pretty much all piggyback units from what I have researched it's near impossible to advance an odd signal, even more so two odd signals. retarding is simpler, since you can delay the signal fairly easily, but you still need a unit designed to take two matched signals and treat them the same... even though they are two different signals. this is all possible, just difficult to find the right unit, and if you fool those two sensors properly the ECU won't be able to tell the difference.

...EDIT: once you figure all this out you need to make sure the unit can control fuel just as difficult to do this on the RA as the timing is

Great input guys I'll keep all this in mind while I am building up. Worse case I blow the engine I found a new one for 1200 shipped and I have a second car so I'll be pushing all the limits and testing everything I can. On that note if anyone has any ideas but don't want to risk your engine let me know I'll try it...depending on the expected outcome that is.

Please no dumb stuff i.e.200 shot of NO2 to a stock engine.

i had the E-manage Ultimate for a short time, but never installed it,after looking at the instructions, it was impossible to use, it doesnt have a O2 sim, nor a system to support the Fly-by-wire on our cars, and it doesnt have the capability to run our type of MAF sensor, so it is totally useless. So i am still looking for the perfect engine management, i am still looking into the Megasquirt, seeing at they have new developments all the time, and a little bird told me that the new v.4.0 is comming soon and will support coil over plug system.
