Splitsec enricher !

Alright guys... it's been a while since I checked out splitsec's webpage they have released a enricher module so you can tune in closed loop it works as a clamp on the 02 Sensor so the ECU doesn't see anything past 14.7 AFR so it should take care of any fuel trim issues we get now as well as partial throttle boost problems.

It looks like it could be a pain to tune though since it's just knobs.

Once I get all my other problems fixed this is going in for sure.

I've got transmission issues which I've narrowed down to the input shaft bearing. So the LSD is sitting next to me right now.

I've also got a piggyback or MAF problem it runs rich and bogs right down with Sub 10.0 AFR I know for sure it's not my 02 sensor as it was replaced.

Going to try a new MAF. I tried cleaning it but no diff at all.

Need to boost leak test again it could be a giant leak somewhere.

Last resort is looking at the tune.

Yea sounds like you have a good plan of action. probably the exact same thing i would do if i was in your position.

i lied. i would probably blow up a motor. Yea, now that i think about it, thats what i would do. lol

Well after you get the A/F fixed, look into that enricher and let us know how it works. if it works for you, i'll be buying one THE MOMENT i read your review.

Wonder if the guys at road race have any input or opinion on this product...?

I'm having afr issues too. My zt2 wideband reads 9.8(lowest reading they can read) when I go WOT.

New MAF installed problems partially fixed.

Idle AFR isn't randomly going up and down so it's a minor success.

Still maxed out the AFR at WOT.

Next up transmission repairs. Then tune. I can't do anymore WOT as the transmission is going to let go soon.

I was getting a low reading for a while too. I actually fixed it when i figured out there was some small cracks in my manifold. Easy way to find this out is to run some seafoam through the vacuum line that connect to the BOV. Once you get it in there the car will start to smoke. In my case it started smoking under the hood lol. I was able to find a small crack where my runners met at the turbo. I drove myself crazy trying to find a boost leak.(which it may be in your case)

Edit: Maps were fine. The options must be setup they don't come from the map alone... doh.

Need to know what the settings should be....System/Engine/Ouput please post them or pm me.

I don't know where to get seafoam in Canada I've never seen it anywhere. I hope it's not exhaust leaks but it very well could be.

Reset the ECU and the problems have disappeared I'd put money on it that my fuel trims were totally messed up. It's still a tad rich but it's not bogging down at all.

how do you think the fuel trims got messed up? just the piggyback randomly trying to "fix itself" and re-tune it self? or did you adjust the settings yourself, and its relearning from that?

Over time just daily driving our turbo spools pretty quick it's quite often that the car see's boost in closed loop in turn this creates a richer condition than our 02 sensor knows what to do with so it trys to pull out fuel which messes up the fuel trims. The enricher will change this and I wont have to reset the ECU every week.

I did recently fix my major boost leaks from 3 injector seals so that also could have something to do with it I should have reset it after fixing the leak.

Adam, I get seafoam from AutoParts Extra but from what I can tell from shops in BC Lordco can get it too. A couple of years ago I built something similar to the splitsecond enricher. It worked for the trims but you had to use a wideband for the input otherwise it would trip codes because the sensor "failed to switch". Still it did not fix the issue because you then run into MAF airflow limits. If you do some looking around at my earlier threads I described many reasons why piggybacks don't work on that car.

Im not running turbo but i know the p0171 code all too well. Had it ever since I had a CAI on the car. Rob fixed mine by increasing the fuel 2% though the piggyback. Never had it again. Maybe this helps?
