sr intake question

ok my dad bought a cai for his hemi but he didnt like it so i took the upper half of it and drilled an inch and a quarter hole for the mas i put it one but didnt have a filter for it but just thought id take it around the block, so i pull out of the driveway and start going, i goto shift and the car dies is that because i have no filter on it or do you guys think its something else.
my theory(prolly wrong) but i think its sucking to much air and its trying to dump a bunch of fuel and it floods it out. or something along those lines.

How did you attach the MAS to the pipe?

Never drive a car without a filter.

That is my question too. If it was not a air tight fit, the air passing through it, and missing the sensor will send the wrong signals it the ECU.

Well i think it was because of the fact that you had no filter... And instead of the car having to work at sucking air in there was no resistance <normally created by the air filter> and thus it sucked so much air in that it make the car run so lean that it died... Similar effect to a car running too rich with too much gas and not enough air... But that's my guess.. so don't take my word for it... I'm probably wrong

when you refer to the "hemi" engine in the dodge's, what particular engine are you talking about?

Actually (yes I'm nit-picking here) the engine is 347ci not 360. The 360 is the last generation non-hemi V8.

I would recommend welding the hole you made shut, sell the intake on eBay, then use that money to buy a SRI that's actually made for your car.

Could be due to, too much air, causing the engine to bog down and die, i've seen this before
