Exclamation Q for RRM, is it possible to increase the revolutions...?

on the ralliart? I like the 6500rpm redline, and the 7000k rpm fuel cut, but I was wondering if it was possible to increase it to 7k rpm redline and 7.5k fuel cut? What would be the performance gains and how much would it cost? Was there a reason why the redline wasnt upped w/ the piggyback? Or could you have upped the revs w/ the piggyback? Would it hurt the engine life or be fatal? Could you get even better performance gains w/ an upped rev and i/e?

i don't know if you have noticed, but the power drop off is about 6000rpm, so any more revs after that is just wasted time, you are better off upshift to the next gear

redline - n - The rotation speed at which an engine will explode at.

in theory, u should never redline. so you dont just raise it without some significant mods, unless you KNOW you have an overly strong block and an overly sissy 'redline'/limiter. Also, if the powerband drops before we hit our redline, it would be pretty pointless to extend it. In our case, the powerband DOES drop at the top of the band. Unless we can push good power past ~6k RPM, we dont wana keep in gear above that. This might be done with different gear ratios and by changing out alot of the rotating parts of the engine and better ballancing. Not cheap =) But yes, you can electronically remove the 7k limiter, but again, i dunno why you would wana do that on a daily driver. its like taking a safety off a gun.

ya very true our cars dont make power past 6100 rpm, but when you hit next gear the reason why you take it to 7000 is so it doesnt drop out of power band for start of next gear, raising it to 7500 if you even had minor bolt ons such as full exhaust intake some ecu work would be good gains, youd prolly need to swithc to a satnd alone ecu like apexi's which replaces your factory ecu unless someone wants to rip apart our ecu's and see if they haev a PROM chip that we could burn a new chip for like honads, but i think all the info is stored on a few diff chips so it would be complicated

Thanks

i don't see how you drop out of the power band at 6100.. look at the dyno graphs.. you pull hard on anything over 4000.. anything over 6000 is just wasted time

yea, our torque peaks at just over 4k rpms. hp peaks at just under 6k. perfect if ask me. gives us that nice boost at the begining of every gear and the extra momentium helps us use the additional hp as the rpm's rise.
