Why would it not work? It's made for the Ralliart.

The 230 doesn't come with the bypass though the 265 dollar one does they confused the prices.

 

He probably thought the cheap one was for the 2.0l lancers.... should work and no they didn't get the prices mixed up... the bypass valve makes the CAI cost more. Although it isn't necesary, i'll get one just to be safe.

 

Why is the one with the bypass cheaper then? Doesn't make sense.

 

ok so which one has the bypass and which doesnt im all freaking out an **** i just bought the 265.00$ because that guy said the 230 didnt didnt work. does the one i bought have a bypass because that would be great. Thats y i wanted the cheaper one cause it had a bypass please if you guys know anything let me know.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't 2k4 the first year of the ralliart? i'm not 100% sure but.... if so.... then this is a crock.... secondly... it's not saying included... it says it's optional... so if you did order the cheap one you still wouldn't recieve the bypass valve.

There Ya go, i've heard nothing but good things about this company... although it is the same price i've dealt with them and i know they stand for perfection.

 

I made the stupid mistake of ordering the first part (the $230.00), which is NOT for the ralliart. Immediately after I submitted my order I noticed the year as '03 and emailed the retailer to get a confirmation of what I feared. NO, the $230.00 is not for the Ralliart. 2004 is the first model year for ralliarts. That intake is listed as a ralliart intake if you do a search by vehicle model/make but it wont work. Thankfully I was able to get it straightened out before they shipped it. Hopes this helps. BTW heres the exact response they sent me if you're interested.


The AEM part # 21-434 that you ordered is for the 02-03 Lancer 2.0L 5
Speed only.

The only part for a 2004 Lancer is 21-436, which fits 03-04 Ralliart
2.4L Manual Transmission only.

Please let me know if this description fits your vehicle, and we can
change your order and have you pay for the difference (it is $35.62
more)
If you do not have the 04 Lancer as described above, there is no other
AEM cold air intake out at this time.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They just emailed me again with this poop. retailer really dropped the ball here. this is after mislabling the intake on their site, AND offering to sell a part they cant sell yet in a color they dont offer yet (see thread below). I'm a bit noobish to a lot of this, and willing to accept responsibility for ordering the wrong part initially but them not even knowing whats available and whats not is kinda lame. here's what they had to tell me:
I apologize, I was told incorrectly. This intake has not been released
by AEM yet, release date not set yet.
Only the short ram is currently available for this vehicle - part #

Injen has an intake available for your vehicle now, if you would be

I also emailed my retailer about that, and they told me that there isnt a bypass valve available for the AEM ralliart intake yet. I've been told that the bypass valve is a one size fits all kind of deal but I am not so sure i believe that. at any rate, heres what the retailer sent me re the bypass valve as well:

This intake is available only in Polish at this time (the other colors
generally come a few months after original release). There is currently
no bypass valve application for this intake.
Please let me know if you would like to continue with your order in
Polish.

I do not work for autocarparts.com, but they left me with the impression that the intake was not available yet.

I'm impatient, so I turned around and purchased the injen CAI instead :|

hey bro he aint got them aem is not releasing them until march 25th and i know this for a fact i call them every week just to check and also itf you look you will see that is says carb legal but that wrong, goto aems website thats still pending this guy dont know what he is selling

 

Why do people keep going to every place besides AEM to find out about their parts. If you go to their web site it says right there it's not available yet. Why would anybody else have an AEM product that AEM isn't even making yet??? Let alone these people say they've got an endless stock of this stuff. Use your brain folks.
