Injen Cai Ordered - bypass? if so - size?

So I have ordered the injen CAI for the RA and I've been doing a bunch of reading on the AEM bypass valve.

I have looked at the other threads and according to otter, the 2.75 inch part is the correct bypass valve for this intake. I understand Ill need to make some cuts to do this.

My questions: Anyone else living in a snowy climate NOT running a bypass valve year round? Should I be worried? Did I read correctly that the 2.75 inch valve is the one I need for the ralliart? Did I also read correctly that I will need to be cutting about an inch out of this pipe? I understand that the info is all here, I've read it. I'm just very nervous about changing stuff without reconfirming everything.

My take on it is this: for $50.00, I'm getting the piece of mind that I have eliminated the possibility of hydrolocking my motor. Even if im voiding the warranty on my CAI, I'd rather lose it, and the valve before my motor.

Thank you all in advance for your patience and answers.

No cutting is needed to fit the bypass onto the Injen intake. The only cutting needed is the normal cutting to the splash guard to make the intake fit, whether or not you have the bypass.

2.75" is the correct size.

I was also reading another post where someone had issues after having their car washed. I would assume that this was a wash with an undercarraige spray. Can anyone else verify if this should even be a problem without the valve? From what I understand, this CAI is still in an enclosed area behind the bumper. My understanding is also that the filter is fine to get wet, just not SUBMERGED.

Once again, I realize these questions may seem a little repetetive and I thank you all for your input.

I go through the car wash with no problems. If you're getting an undercarrige wash and you're worried about it, turn off the engine while in the wash. However, the filter will be fine, as long as the car wash doesn't flood. As you said, it's okay for it to get wet, just not submerged.

yes the filter can get wet.. otherwise my car would have been destroyed by now. I dont know about the bypass valve its a good idea though and you can pick it up on ebay cheaper probably. from the look of the engine bay u shouldnt need to cut the pipe but i could be wrong
