oil cooler thermostat

I just got my oil cooler thermostat..

all the fittings are still on order

the fitting + hose + thermostat is almost 2x the cost of the cooler kit..

i believe that it allows the oil cooler (or oil radiator) to be bypassed while the oil is below a certain temp, like 180 degress. the idea is that it helps the car warm up faster with the cooler installed. but the purpose of the cooler is to keep the engine cool (duh). that isnt always a good thing, so this eliminates the odd case
