apex s-afc II

alright.... let me start by saying i searched but could not find the answers i wanted.
alright now... is anyone running the apex afc at the moment? i want to know as much info about the afc if put on the ralliart. cuz all i hear is how awesome it is on evos and yeah.. i dont have an evo. i would like to buy it since it seems like a nice investment to gain a few hosrses. and is it easy to tune? or should i bring it to a tune shop and they can do it? i know it sounds broad question but just give me as much info you guys know, thx.

if you want to play with a safc-ii you will need something to monitor your "knock" on your engine, or an egt or your timing!

well you need a dataloguer. the safc by itself is pretty useless if you dont have anything to refer to.

its basically use to send more gas to your engine by cheating the air flow signal.

Its a very usefull toy for a turbo engine like evo's and talon/eclipse. If your RA is stock look for something else.

you don't usually use the S-AFC to add more fuel, that'll usually push you into fuel cut. If you get a bigger pump or injectors it'll help with that or just stock the car is usually setup rich so by leaning it out you can get some more ponies.
The OBDII dataloggers for our car don't show knock but you can watch the timing curves and that'll give you an indication of whether the computer is seeing too much airflow or knock. It's a little bit round-a-bout but once you get used to your cars timing curve it's easy to pickup on.
And definitely an EGT gauge and WideBand O2 would be great additions.

S-afc II in RA's will not work..I tried using it trought the map sensor to do minor adjustments but the computer turned values back or throw a "service Engine". If you try to conect it to the Hotwire it will read 100% at idle and wont idle so its useless.

where are you guys reading your sensors? direct output from the sensor, or through the ecu inputs?

I don't understand what you are saying.. The information that arrives to the stock ECU plug is the same one the sensor is sending..? Can you describe how you guys connected the SAFC with details and your sensor type and # of sensor. I've trying to figure this out for months, appreciate any help on this.

I just picked up my SAFC II Black edition and I am going to install it this week.

I was looking at the pin out diagrams and everybody said there is a MAS as well as a MAP signal wire.. I only see one.. anybody confirm?
