Unorthodox Racing pulleys

Hey guys, I emailed UR to see if they are either in the works or plan to be making some acc. pulleys for us. Here's they're response.

"We do not currently make or have plans to make pulleys for the Ralliart. Unfortunately demand has been too weak to support development. Stay tuned to our site as you never know when demand might push us to make them.

Thanks for your question,

Shawn Baumgartner

So if anyone is intrested, drop this guy a line!! Lets get it done!

Accessory pulleys are usually pretty worthless, and a waste of money.

They're a good investment if you like pretty anodized colors though.

i don't understand rotational mass is rotational mass, access. and power steering pulleys turn with the engine don't they? So how would this be useless can you explain so the rest of us understand as well.

Those $150 might get you 1 hp. If you're lucky.

I doubt that, it would be the same concept as Joe's crank pulley the more you lighten rotational mass (especially if its underdriven) the more hp you'll see.

The main rotational mass for the engine to overcome is the crank pulley. The other pulleys are just that. Pulleys connected by belts, and so the forces become diminished (somebody correct me if my physics is wrong). They start to become insignificant. If you're reducing the mass of something that's already insignificant, you don't gain much.

I know from my old Eclipse GT that they did absolutely nothing for us.

Yeah, come to think of it...they didn't really yield any gains on theRSX platform either.

As you can imagine I have reserarched this topic a LOT. My consensus on UR is a mixed bag. I have read about unbalanced pullies and in some model a lack of quaility control. For the price they charge it should be way superior of a pulley to what I am making. I believe you will find that the pulley I am making will be a much nicer piece and it is way less expensive.

I have thought about accessory pullies although I am unsure if it would justify the gains for the cost.

Joe - He's talking about the other accessory pulleys, not the awesome crank pulley that you made for us.
