The gas price in Cali is nothing compared to Toronto!!!! We pay a minimum right now of 85 cents/liter. Converted thats $3.21 CDN for REGULAR gas!! Now, granted thats only about $2.60ish USD....but still! Its friggen ridiculous!

It appears safe for you... but someone in colder climate, lower altitude, etc... may have a problem running the lighter. They may not know what pinging sounds like and keep driving. Then when the motor fails they'll say RRM sucks but RRM never stated what you have.

Think you need to edit your statement on this and keep us posted on your pioneerinig efforts.
Our motors have an anti-knock in them, so they arent going to ping. Nobody is going to say RRM sucks. Even if one or two people do, what harm is it? Im not going to edit my statement because you pretty much just stated what you thought. And yes Rob did say 89 would be safe. So im sure even people in Denver for instance would remain safe.

Show me that... better yet look at the level it's set at. I've had the lancer ping itself so bad it broke 3 sets of JE's. What was the car supposed to do... pull timing? add fuel? There's no provision for it. Do you know what the car does if it sees pinging/knocking?? CEL... that's it.

If your really have to save the cash i guess save it and if something happens just hope you saved enough. If you can't really afford it then maybe the piggy isn't for you then. Not knocking RRM or trying to lose them business but rather look out for those that might run into issues later due to following this post.

There is always the "AT YOU OWN RISK" policy with performance products. It's up to you to decide which risks to take. Good luck.

only 85 cents/litre in TO right now? In winnipeg we're getting raped with 92 - 97 cents/litre for regular 87 octane, or 90 octane ethanlon blend at mohawk/husky.

If it turns out that I can keep running my 90 octane ethanol blend safely with a piggy, I might just pick one up after my wedding next month as a present for me.

Anti knock is what I meant. And do I mention anywhere that you SHOULD run 89? No I didnt. Loosen up on the smart *** comments.

This is true. The end.
